Retro city rampage dx 3ds blocks portable#Retro City Rampage: DX is the best open world game to hit a portable system since GTA: Chinatown Wars on the DS. Thankfully the game keeps going at a very brisk pace, and doesn’t let the dropped frames impact the experience. There are, however, a few frame rate slowdowns when there's a lot of action going on. The places you can take cover behind rarely allow an opportunity to shoot back at your enemy, but running and gunning most of the missions is still a perfectly good strategy, and can be incredibly satisfying. There's a cover system in the game, that allows you to hide behind small walls, but I never really found it useful. Everything in the 3DS version is zoomed in by about 2:1, so every object feels like it’s easily identifiable, and is easy to keep track of where you are, which is an issue I had with the game’s previous release.Ĭontrolling the game can be a bit complex when you first begin, but after a while everything starts to be second nature. Playing on the 3DS XL, I was amazed at how crisp the game looked. The characters, scenery and cars all look as if they were ripped right out of the 8-bit era, but the action never slows down. I found it to be some of the best chiptune music from a game in recent memory. The graphics look like an NES game that has been super-charged with Blast Processing. The game’s peppy and upbeat 8-bit soundtrack is also nostalgic and fits the retro vibe of the game extremely well. While these references aren’t exactly subtle, they still made me laugh. Whether it’s constantly breaking the fourth wall, or making references to various video games, television shows and movies from the 1980’s, it’s hard to play this game with a straight face. The game’s writing and atmosphere really makes the it feel unique. Like the GTA games, the police will be coming after you whenever you run over or murder enough pedestrians, but as stated earlier, it's easier than ever to give them the slip with some clever driving or painting your car a different color in the game’s various car shops. The city feels alive with all of the different cars on the road and pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. I was really impressed how many shops, missions, and more the developer was able to squeeze in. Retro city rampage dx 3ds blocks full#Retro City Rampage plays like the first two Grand Theft Auto games, using a top-down perspective instead of being in full 3D. The experience is still challenging without feeling unfair or frustrating. While it sounds like the developer dumbed down the game, rest assured that all of these changes were for the better, and really help make the game feel that much more frantic and fun to play. Missions are paced faster with more checkpoints, weapons have been rebalanced and allow you to jump and fire at the same time, and you’re given more opportunities to give police the slip. Various other tweaks to the game were made to make it more suitable for portable play. The touchscreen also allows you to easily select any weapon you currently have on the fly, making finding the appropriate tool for the job that much quicker. The touchscreen features a large mini-map of your surrounding area, and also allows you to customize what kinds of shops show up on the map, making it easier to get to where you need to go if you need an extra power-up. Retro city rampage dx 3ds blocks Pc#Not only does the game manage to look crystal clear and smooth compared to the PS3 and PC versions of the game, but it also boasts quite a few new features. Now that I’ve given a game a third chance on the 3DS, the game finally feels like it has a proper home. I gave the game a shot on the PC and PlayStation 3 about a year ago, but I never bothered to invest much time into it. It looks and sounds like a game from the NES era, and plays like one, too. It doesn't try to replicate Grand Theft Auto in the sense of trying to do it better. That's where a game like Retro City Rampage: DX shines. ![]() Many games tried to replicate its success, but very few have succeeded, whether its a lackluster open world or poor writing. Grand Theft Auto 3 was one of the biggest games of the past 15 years. ![]() ![]() ![]() Not gonna lie, i've kinda made random choices at some point to see if I would get the desired ending and starting to note every choices would have took me like 5 more times, so i just recorded the game, then i've realised some ending ARE BASED ON YOUR RED TIMER (+ what you said of course) and it makes it even harder to have the "perfect solution to have 100%"Īs for the 11 endings achievement, we have COLOR ZEN GAME WALKTHROUGH FULLI've recorded every ending (with the full playtrought on youtube) So, thats probably why you came here, to reach endings, there are some difficulties on some that may trouble you. But I must warn you, it will take a moment to get them, but if you are really determinated you can do it ! Good luck to complete Quinn journey, and keep your heads on I'll keep the ending achievement for the end since ending in STAY are very special to get. COLOR ZEN GAME WALKTHROUGH HOW TOThe werewolf achievement comes up at C10, you need to have the petunia (Not the pink carnation), and pick the option "Enjoy the fresh air" if you have trouble on getting it, I've recorded how to get it in one of my ending path video. (if you miss only one item it's probably the humming bird, since it's the more tricky to have.) I've made a list of all items, paste the image in paint and paint something on the one you have if you do have trouble. ![]() You'll need 3 runs, maybe 4, i'm not sure. ![]() The collectionist, this one is a little bit more tricky since there are a bit more items and some are kinda hard to find. Zen master, while an interlude time, you need to watch the whole time where Quinn wander, this can't be missed, unless you leave the 3 times that there's an interlude on a run.ĭr.Livestone, this one isn't that hard, you'll need 2 play to get it, (you get different rooms when you are confronted to the 2 door choices (11 and 12) and there is a way to miss the wine cellar too, but you really need to do bad choices, you'll see later) Werewolf Can be achieved only on full moon days with a 4 day gapīreaking the ice, you need to give your name to Quinn, this choice is on the C3 and can't be missed. The 5 who are related to special choices are So, for the 14 story related, you only need to complete the puzzle wich the achievement is related, you can't miss them, (unless you give up and uninstal the game, but here i am with my guide that gonna help you if you are stucked) Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely. So there are 31 achievements, the puzzle achievement are story related so you should have already have them (if not I'd ask you one more time to reconsider reading more and enjoy the game by yourselfġ4 of them are story related and can't be missedĥ are related on special choices during gameplayĪnd the last one require you to have all the achievements. ![]() ![]() Soon I realized that it had gotten inside my head and infected my brain. Music: At first I was nodding my head to the music, occasionally even whistling along if I recognised a bit. DDTank has a quest system, but it mainly rewards you for doing things that you’d probably have done anyway which begs the question “what’s the point of giving quests?” The Quest System:Quests are one of those things we expect from an MMO without really ever enjoying them. Still, seeing the early characters, without any of the fancy clothes, isn’t great for an initial first impression and might put some people off. It’s a means to an end, a shell which is easy to edit without major changes and hence easy to dress up. It’s never fun to come across crazy people, although you can’t shoot them either so I suppose DDTank is about as close as you can come to realizing that dream.Ĭharacter Design:While I love the amount of customization available upon your character, the actual character design isn’t great. More than once I got into a game with people all too quick to report me for cheating if I won them or if I managed to hit them first time (which hardly ever happens). The Non-Perfect part of the Community: As I said above, the community is almost perfect, but there’s always going to be people who spoil it. Maybe they were bots, selling Viagra or something. Now, I’m not the sort of person who can sit in an MMO chat box for hours, but it always impresses me when people are so willing to jump straight into a conversation with a pure stranger. Add to the fact that many of the games can be purchased without the need to use actual money.Īlmost-Perfect Community:Within an hour of playing DDTank, three people had friended me. Whether you like bunny ears, monkey hats or just elegant black tie, the developers have something in place for you. There are quite literally hundreds of different items to attach to your characters and thousands of variations. The environments, just like Worms, become more battle torn as the fight goes on meaning that dipping into a newly-formed crater for protection is a viable and sometimes clever option.Įndless Customizability:If you get a thrill by the notion of dressing up your character in crazy costumes, DDTank may just be for you. The artwork looks hand drawn and colourful and that’s enough for it to stick in your memory. You can get constant enjoyment out of DDTank without the need to level up or perform meaningless quests.īeautiful Artwork, Destructible Environments: While DDTank obviously fails to offer the sort of open-world environments some can’t do without in their MMOs, the backgrounds of the battlegrounds look absolutely stunning. It’s Just Great Fun:There aren’t enough games in the MMO World that are fun just for the sake of being fun. #Ddtank system games freeIt doesn’t take too much time to learn, you unlock most features within the opening levels of the game and before long you can have friends, enemies and everything in between, perfectly ready for the ten minutes you have free before leaving for work. If you’re after something without the depth of an MMORPG but with more originality than an FPS, DDTank may just be for you. Simple Action, Fast: DDTank offers battle experience that can be started in thirty seconds and finished within ten minutes. ![]() ![]() ![]()
